so. just, hypothetically. is it possible for firebenders to turn into fire? and/or has spontaneous combustion ever been known to be a potential issue for firebenders?
No, we definitely can't turn into fire. We can create fire and lightning, but we aren't immune to it. Though I have met a firebender assassin who could make things combust with his mind. He blew himself up in the end, or so my nephew tells me, but I don't know of any other firebenders who have combusted from their own firebending.
those are the big four everyone knows, but in my world, theyre technically just the first order elements. all the elements are derived from null, which divides into the grand order elements, light and dark--light breaks down into earth and fire, darkness breaks down into water and air. and then fire for example breaks down into the second order elements magma and smoke, which break down into the third order elements ooze/acid and ash/fume respectively. every order, chemically speaking, is considered to be less "pure" than the order that precedes it
hypothetically, there could be infinite orders i think?? but theres only an academic consensus on what the elements of down to the third order actually are. i dont know, im not a nerd
im actually pretty sure that in my world, lightning is derived from air for some reason. it feels like it should be from fire but its.......... probably not like that here
