i still have all my limbs for now, which is nice, but im from a piss poor farming village. accidents happen, with the plow or the animals or whatever the fuck, and ive known lots of guys who wouldve traded everything they had left for a half decent prosthetic so they could keep working. if you cant work, in a place like that, and your family cant or wont pick up the slack, you die

yeah, it was the same for me. its all so dumb, most people in the position that i was in before i got the job ive got now just end up dead in a ditch somewhere. and no matter how hard i work, obviously i know that wouldnt have ever meant anything if i didnt majorly luck out on top of that

Ah, no. I'd have lived whether or not my hair was the color that it is - but it was blond hair that lifted me from the gutter, for whatever that was worth.

My adoptive father has strong aesthetic preferences - and I made sure to be the most capable blond boy around.

im still trying to figure it out, so i can start getting the stupid side effects under control. the story goes that my mom had a one night stand with some out-of-town-er passing through, and even if she knew anything about him, nobody was exactly in the mood to ask after she messed around with a stranger and got knocked up unmarried. and since she died the same night i was born, im shit out of luck

im pretty confident though that whoever my dad is, this is from his side of the family tree. my relatives that i know of have all been normal and in a little village like where im from everybody talks, and some not-evil wizard i know that felt like being helpful was able to confirm that its not because of anything ive done in a past life. so its gotta be his fault, wherever he is
